Our district-level interventions in schools and local communities have given us insights into what works on the ground, and we combine this grass roots experience with international best practice and expertise to co-create strategic solutions to improve the quality of teaching and thereby improve foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN) skills.

We are passionate about improving the quality of primary education, enabling every child to fulfil their potential. We firmly believe that the quality of teaching is key to transforming education outcomes, and that effective teachers are those who promote a safe and inclusive learning environment whilst fostering positive relationships for learning and using teaching strategies tailored to children’s learning needs.

Currently, our efforts are focussed on supporting the Government of Gujarat to drive positive change in teaching and learning practices across the state. In pursuit of our aim to improve learning outcomes by systematically improving the provision of foundational education in schools state-wide, Reach to Teach is bringing expertise and assistance to support the Government of Gujarat in a number of areas, including:

Moving forward, Reach to Teach will play a leading role in the Gujarat Education Coalition (GEC) – a group of organisations with the shared aim of working with the Government of Gujarat to drive improved foundational education in literacy and numeracy. Our work will evolve as we work with the government and others to create a lasting, positive impact on the education system.
